CA ARCserve Backup Options and Agents
Description
Key Features
-
Disk Staging Option - disk staging shrinks backup time by allowing backup data to be staged to fast disk drives before it is automatically moved to tape. Restore requests are redirected to disks automatically, reducing recovery time. The operation is policy driven, reducing operational cost and management overhead. The functionality is built into the base product but Disk Staging Option allows fullest use of the disk staging capabilities like backup of up to 32 streams to disk devices.
-
Tape Library Option - supports and provides advanced device and media management for multiple drive libraries. With this option, CA ARCserve Backup can send simultaneous data streams to each drive to optimize throughput on any multiple-drive tape library.
-
SAN Option - fully leverages Fibre Channel technology to offload backup and restore tasks from networks. By allowing multiple servers to share the tape libraries the ROI for these devices is greatly improved.
-
Backup Image Option- improves the performance and reduces the backup window of a server by backing up a block-level image of the data rather than processing file by file to eliminate any file system bottleneck. This solution retains the flexibility to allow file level restores.
-
Agent for Open Files - provides online backup and restore of all files - even those that are open or in use (including system and database files, documents, spreadsheets, drawings, publishing files and more). This ensures all files are backed up including those that are in use and locked by applications. This option supports NetWare 4.x, 5.x, 6.x and Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, including Windows files on 64-bit systems.
-
Agent for Microsoft Exchange - delivers the fastest and most flexible online protection of Microsoft Exchange server databases and database objects and provides simple recovery options.
-

-
