Description

Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 emphasises manageability, availability, scalability, and security. SQL Management Objects, enable users to customize their management environment with additional building tools. Management Studio focuses all of your server needs into one user-friendly console to monitor and manage your server. Microsoft's SQL Server features database mirroring to immediatly switch servers if your primary system goes down. The program is fully integrated with other Microsoft Office products.

System Requirements

Following are the minimum hardware and software requirements for running Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

  • Computer with a 500-MHz or faster processor; 1-GHz processor recommended.
  • Microsoft Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or later; Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later; Windows 2000 Server, Advanced Server, or Datacenter Server with Service Pack 4 or later; or Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 or later. Windows Server 2003 Web Edition with Service Pack 1 or later (SQL Server 2005 Express Edition only).
  • 214 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space required for SQL Server database components; additional hard disk space up to 2 GB may be required depending on your system configuration and the applications and features you choose to install.
  • 512 MB of RAM or more; 1 GB recommended.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or later.
  • DVD-ROM drive.
  • VGA or higher resolution monitor.
  • Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
